MIT Personnel

The following people make up the NGST project team at the MIT Space Systems Laboratory. SSL is a laboratory with researchers and students from different parts of the US and a number of graduate students from Canada and from overseas.

Project Personnel

Prof. Miller obtained a D.Sc. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT in 1988. His research interests include distributed satellite systems (DSS), modular and multifunctional spacecraft, active acoustic launch load alleviation, the next generation of space telescopes, space-based interferometry, and active control of dynamic structures. Prof. Miller was a finalist in the 1992 Astronaut candidate selection program.

Specializes in integrated modeling and dynamics of spaceborne observatories for  visual, IR and radio astronomy with large apertures. Background in non-linear FEM simulation, industrial process management and systems engineering. Interested in international space cooperation. Graduate Research Assistant at SSL since 1997. Ph.D. candidate. Previously liaison engineer on F/A-18 program at McDonnell Douglas Aerospace in St. Louis, MO. Country of origin: Switzerland.
